A Detty December Favourite: The Foodie in Lagos Festival 2025

Some Detty December events come and go. Others linger โ€” in conversations, camera rolls, and the quiet realisation that you witnessed something special. The Foodie in Lagos Festival, held on December 17 and 18, 2025, was firmly in the latter category.

Over two vibrant days, food lovers, families, creatives, and brands came together for an experience that felt equal parts festival, community hangout, and cultural moment. Curated by Foodie in Lagos, the festival reflected the platformโ€™s deep understanding of how Lagos eats, celebrates, and connects.

From the moment guests arrived, the energy was unmistakable. Music floated across the venue, food aromas filled the air, and groups moved easily between stalls, games, and activities. With over 3,000 attendees across both days, the festival buzzed with movement โ€” people eating, laughing, discovering new brands, and reconnecting with familiar favourites.

Food was, naturally, at the centre of it all. Vendors served everything from Nigerian classics and smoky grills to desserts, cocktails, street food favourites, and contemporary fusion dishes. It was the kind of place where one plate turned into three, and โ€œjust tastingโ€ quickly became a full meal.

But what made the Foodie in Lagos Festival stand out was how much else there was to enjoy.

Live DJ sets kept things lively throughout the day, while a DJ battle and artiste performances lifted the mood as evening approached. A live band added warmth and nostalgia, creating moments where guests danced, sang along, and soaked in the atmosphere. Hosting duties were split across both days, with Deji Osikoya anchoring Day One, MC Obinna taking over on Day Two, and Oludamee bringing flair and energy to the red carpet

The festival experience was supported by a lineup of brands seamlessly integrated into the event. Partners including Jameson, Flutterwave, Desperados, Mich & Kay, Nestlรฉ Pure Life, Lagos State Parks & Gardens Agency (LASPARK), Page Asset Management Limited, Luxe Bounce, and 88 Games delivered interactive moments that complemented the festivalโ€™s flow.

Kidsโ€™ play areas and game zones kept younger guests entertained, while experiential brand spaces and relaxed garden-style seating gave adults room to explore and unwind.

Families, in particular, found plenty to love at the Christmas Village, curated in partnership with Tinsel Town. Children took part in bead-making workshops, cookie decorating classes, Santa Grotto moments, and performances at the Elf Play House Theatre. Pamper sessions by Dermaspace offered a thoughtful pause for parents, reinforcing the festivalโ€™s inclusive approach to Detty December fun.

What made all of this feel especially intentional was the hand behind the curation. Founded in 2013, Foodie in Lagos has spent over a decade shaping how the city discovers food and dining experiences. The Foodie in Lagos Festival – the platformโ€™s second major festival โ€” felt like a natural extension of that journey: a physical expression of years of trust, taste-making, and community-building.

That growing influence hasnโ€™t gone unnoticed. The festival was listed by CNN as part of the 2025 Detty December line-up, placing it among the seasonโ€™s most anticipated food and lifestyle events and cementing its place on Lagosโ€™ festive calendar.

If you missed it, moments from the Foodie in Lagos Festival are live across Foodie in Lagosโ€™ digital platforms –  and judging by the energy of this edition, itโ€™s one event worth keeping an eye on.
