After a city-wide shutdown due to the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic since March 16, 2020, Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced that film and TV production will resume next week, 20th July, 2020. This is followed by a report stating that the new detected Coronavirus cases have dropped drastically this week in New York.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, despite the reopening of film and TV production, indoor dining remains banned while malls and museums are still not opening. The city can however host sporting events and activities on the condition that there will be no fan in attendance.
