Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has projected that her upcoming movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa, will make N5 billion when it hits cinemas this December.

In a viral video with some of the movie’s cast, Akindele expressed confidence in the film’s success, stating, “We are making N5 billion this year.”

Should the movie reach this milestone, it would surpass the record set by Akindele’s previous film, A Tribe Called Judah, which was the first Nigerian movie to gross over one billion naira.

Everybody Loves Jenifa premiered on Sunday night, December 8, in Lagos, with several celebrities in attendance.

Joining Jenifa is a lineup of Nollywood stars, including Nancy Isime, Stan Nze, Bisola Aiyeola, Patience Ozokwor, Chimezie Imo, Jackie Appiah, Isaac Olayiwola (AKA Layi Wasabi), and Folarin Falana (Falz), and they’re all set to bring their own magic to the mix.
