Amid the grief and mourning that enveloped the burial of late Nollywood actor Junior Pope, a deeply emotional moment captured the hearts of many.
Actor Stanley brought tears to the eyes of countless Nigerians after sharing a touching video of one of Junior Pope’s sons.
In the heartbreaking clip, the young boy is seen sobbing uncontrollably and crying out “No” in sheer anguish as undertakers moved to lower his father’s casket into the ground — a raw and painful reminder of the deep void left behind.
The caption on the video read: “This moment brings back memories of my late parents. Junior Pope’s son couldn’t hold back his tears and screamed ‘No’ as they began burying his father.”

In his own emotional response, Stanley shared his grief, writing: “We can never forget today, Junior Pope. We miss you so much. Who could do this? Swag Nation, Nwa Ukehe, Enugu State. Keep resting in the Lord’s embrace.”
Similarly, Jennifer Awele, Junior Pope’s widow, wrote a moving ode to her husband, reflecting on the difficult year since his untimely death. She acknowledged that there had been a lot of sadness and uncertainty over the year.
Based on reports, on April 10, 2024, Junior Pope and four other people perished in a boat accident on the Anam River in Anambra State.
The group had just returned from an Adanma Luke-produced film set. Social media was enraged by the accident, and many people criticised the production’s lack of safety precautions.
