EFCC goes hard on Fayose

A source who reportedly spoke to The Nation said โ€œWe have discovered that he paid for the houses through his associateโ€™s company, De-Privateer Limited of Agbele.

โ€œDe-Privateer remitted slush funds into three accounts including FCMB (0519693019), First Bank of Nigeria (1000070240) and Zenith Bank (1014016919).

โ€œThe payments were made as follows: First Bankโ€”N40m (29/1/15); N39.5m (30/1/15); N132.5 (30/1/ 15); N3.2m (4/2/15); N980, 000(4/2/15); N200m (17/2/15); N47m (13/2/15); N50m (13/2/15).

โ€œThe lodgements in an account in Zenith Bank (1014016919) included N42.5m (9/4/15); N25m (23/4/15); and N229m (6/3/15).

โ€œAbout N200 million was paid into FCMB account 0519693019 on March 9, 2015.โ€

According to Punch, the EFCC has seized four duplexes reportedly belonging to the Governor at Plot 100 Tiamiyu Savage Street, Victoria Island, Lagos state worth N364m.

The anti-graft agency also took over two properties on 32 Yedseram Street and 44 Osun River Crescent, Maitama, Abuja.

The anti-graft agency said Fayose acquired the properties through two proxies, Abiodun Agbele, and his sister, Moji Ladeji.

The Governor has however, given fire for fire to the EFCC saying he can not be intimidated, he said:

โ€œThe EFCC is at liberty to continue to use the APC media organs to feed the public with concocted stories all in an attempt to tarnish my image, cases are only won and lost in the court, not on the pages of newspapers. If they are sure of all their claims, canโ€™t they just go to court?

โ€œIf what the EFCC and its collaborators are now relying on is a driver or a source in EFCC that is speaking for Zenith Bank, and not the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) that they claimed gave the former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro money to give me, goodluck to them.

โ€œThe EFCC and its spin doctors can continue to cook up stories and feed their collaborators in the media. The media trial can continue unabated, I am not moved. I am more focused, more resolute, I donโ€™t lose battles. The one that they did in 2006 did not ultimately prevent me from having a second term as governor of Ekiti State and whatever they are doing now will also not stop me from handing over to a PDP governor in 2018.

โ€œI will meet them in court and the whole world will again listen to their feeble stories as it? happened in poultry saga.โ€
