Chelsea’s striker Diego Costa ย was taken to the hospital after sustaining a shin injury from the tensionย soaked match,ย manager Guus Hiddink revealed.
Costa, who was instrumental in the Bluesโfightback on the night, tried to play on after picking up the injury, but appeared to be in serious pain and had to be taken off.
The 27-year-old Spanish strikerย was replaced by Loic Remy in the 80th minute after hurting himself in a challenge withย Leighton Baines.
โHeโs in the hospital and they will have a scan,โ Hiddink told reporters at Stamford Bridge. โWe donโt know the result yet and I hope itโs not bad. Itโs on his shin. He was in a lot of pain, thatโs true.โ
He had earlier scored in the 64th minute to spark a revival that saw Chelsea come from 2-0 down to level
Argentine defender Ramiro Funes Mori broke the Bluesโ hearts with a well-taken volley in the first minute of stoppage time to restore Evertonโs lead, only for Chelsea captain John Terry to atone for an earlier own goal with a 98th-minute equalizer, although he seemed to be offside.
