It was a thrilling encounter between Chelsea Football Club and Everton yesterday as the 6 goal match ended in a draw all the goals coming in the second half.
Chelsea’s striker Diego Costa was taken to the hospital after sustaining a shin injury from the tension soaked match, manager Guus Hiddink revealed.
Costa, who was instrumental in the Blues’fightback on the night, tried to play on after picking up the injury, but appeared to be in serious pain and had to be taken off.
The 27-year-old Spanish striker was replaced by Loic Remy in the 80th minute after hurting himself in a challenge with Leighton Baines.
“He’s in the hospital and they will have a scan,” Hiddink told reporters at Stamford Bridge. “We don’t know the result yet and I hope it’s not bad. It’s on his shin. He was in a lot of pain, that’s true.”

Argentine defender Ramiro Funes Mori broke the Blues’ hearts with a well-taken volley in the first minute of stoppage time to restore Everton’s lead, only for Chelsea captain John Terry to atone for an earlier own goal with a 98th-minute equalizer, although he seemed to be offside.
