It is Day 7 and DJ Obi is still going strong

It is Day 7 and DJ Obi is still going strong in his attemptย to break the current World record for longest DJ set which is 200 hours that was set on November 19, 2014 in Dublin, Ireland. He started out on his questย last Wednesday by 10pm at Sao Cafรฉ, Lekki, Lagos and is scheduled to continue DJing till 10pm on July 1. He is however allowed to take a 20 minute break every four hours.

Since then, a lot of celebrities such as Don Jazzy, Olamide, DJ Eni Money, Yung 6ix, Ycee, Tiwa Savage, Iceberg Slim, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Olu Maintain, Toke Makinwa, DJ Caise, MI, Sasha P, Noble Igwe, Shaydee, Adekunle Gold, Burna Boy, Phynoย andย Ebuka Obi-Uchendu have come to offer DJ Obi solidarity while fans on social media just can’t stop pouring in their love and support.

The celebrity DJ nearly cracked on Day 3 but refused to pull the plugs, he wrote on his Instagram page:

โ€œToday was def not the best of days,โ€ DJ Obi wrote on his Instagram account.

โ€œFor the first time in my life I woke up hallucinating, couldnโ€™t recognize my own people. Felt very strange. Was extremely cranky. I forgot my location. Sao cafe looked like my uncleโ€™s house in Bode Thomas ( no joke) from my childhood days. I actually almost gave up today. But thanks to God and my people for being there and standing strong and not taking to heart my actions and stubbornness cause it wasnโ€™t me. The devil is a liar!!!! We are all going to cheer loudly on the 10th day.โ€

Many more stars keep pouring in by the minute to show solidarity and support and we all wish him the best in his quest and hope he breaks the record which we will all celebrate as a nation, people and continent.

The doors to the Sao Cafe are open all through till the tenth day, and fans are allowed to take photographs with the celebs and DJ Obi himself.
