The co-founder of the American rap trio, A Tribe called Quest, Malik Taylor, better known as Phife Dawg has died aged 45.

Alongside with his childhood friend Q-Tip, Phife Dawg and the other members of A Tribe Called Quest can lay claim to being part of the pioneers of hip hop in America. Phife Dawg was said to have died from health related issues although this has not been confirmed.

RIP Phife Dawg!
