President Muhammadu Buhari has lifted the ban on interstate movement within the country, which would come into full force on 1st July, 2020. The Secretary-General of the Government acknowledged that the interstate movement ban was not working as people were still making illegal trips while security agencies placed on the roads saw that as an opportunity to amass wealth for themselves.
The Presidential Task-Force on Covid-19 has however issued a guideline which states that drivers should only fill 50% of the vehicle’s capacity. Also, drivers are to not to move during the curfew hours which is from 10pm to 4am.
The Presidential Task-Force on Covid-19 has also stipulated that domestic aviation service should resume as soon as practicable in line with the existing international and local guidelines on Covid-19.
