The US rapper had been due to headline Rinse FM’s Haggerston festival on June 5 but has now been scrapped from the line-up following her racist Twitter rant and attack on British music act, Zayn Malik.
Notoriously controversial on social media, the 25-year-old angered British artists and music fans in a bitter attack on Wednesday.
She wrote: “The UK really can’t rap though. UK RAP is just a disgrace to rap culture in general.
Just a few hours later, Rinse tweeted: “ANNOUNCEMENT: We have decided to cancel Azealia Banks’ headline appearance at Rinse/Born & Bred Festival.
