The Minister of Aviation, Haidi Sirika has said that the aviation industry is 90% ready for reopening. He said this after the dry run simulation exercises at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos which was witnessed by other top government officials.
The dry simulation exercise was conducted in order to determine the level of readiness of the aviation industry to reopen. The Minister also said that domestic passengers will now have to get to the airports like three hours before departure, while international passengers would be expected to get to the airports about five hours before the flight. He said that this is to ensure that all safety precautions are observed at the airport before passengers board the flight.
