Alex Iwobi Drops Debut EP “More To Life”

Things have been quietly building behind the scenes for Alex Iwobi, and this project feels like the moment it all comes together. More To Life carries a relaxed but intentional sound, with Iwobi leaning into storytelling, rhythm, and the kind of energy that reflects both the dressing room and everyday life. Rather than trying to prove a point, he sounds comfortable—like someone enjoying the process and inviting listeners into his world.

Across the nine tracks, there’s a clear connection between football and music. From the bounce and confidence on “Jogo Bonito” to more reflective moments, Iwobi blends his experiences as a professional athlete with personal expression. The collaboration with Amadou Onana, performing as 24 AM, adds another layer, showing how shared moments on and off the pitch can translate into creative chemistry in the studio.

His earlier link-ups with Don EE and Chuba Akpom on “Don’t Shoot” already hinted at this direction, but this EP feels more focused. It’s less about experimenting and more about building something that can stand on its own, separate from his football identity.

What stands out most is the timing. While still active at the top level with Everton F.C. in recent years, shaping part of his journey, Iwobi isn’t waiting for retirement to explore other passions. Instead, he’s choosing to evolve in real time, balancing both worlds.
