The seventh stage of Star Music Trek Onitsha ended on a grand note with thousands of fans converging at the Godwin Achebe Stadium, Onitsha, to witness live the very best of Nigerian music and performance art at the weekend.
Music fans, many coming from surrounding environs were eager to watch the dazzling array of headline artistes which had previously been unveiled for the concert; Wande Coal, Phyno, KCee, Naeto C and Mr Raw.
The concert began at 4pm and immediately showed Onitsha to be a haven of talents as a slew of young home grown artistes stormed the Star Music Trek stage exhibiting the best of their gifts and clearly showing what makes the bustling city truly rock.

After a pulsating seven weeks across the country, headline artistes, Naeto C and Mr Raw have finally bowed out of the exciting pan Nigerian concert that officially commenced on March 29th in Nsukka, Enugu State.
Naeto C’s energetic performance delivered with some of his greatest hits I Gentle, 10/10, Tony Montana, Kini Big Deal and more was a fitting end to his final performance on the Trek this year. At a brief stop over at Radio Sapiente Onitsha earlier on in the day, the popular rapper had promised to ‘shut down the city’ which he did to an appreciative ovation from the audience.
The dynamic duo of Harrysong and KCee know exactly how to stir their teeming fans. Again, the pair wearing matching white outfits, threw the audience into a frenzy as they performed their hit songs. Beta Pickin,Bulienu Jesus, Pull Over, Akuna Matata and others.
The Limpopo King, Kcee, as usual, rewarded his fans on stage after an extremely energetic mini dance competition produced some skilful and enthusiastic winners.
One Love was the delightful introduction to Mr Raw’s stunning last act on the Trek stage this year. The fan favourite made sure he went the extra mile to please his audience with songs which draw inspiration from the numerous challenges faced in the country today as well as his regular staples, Hip Hop Gyration, Angel and more.
Exceptionally stylish dancers unveiled the Black Diamond, Wande Coal on stage and with his signature fluid dance steps, he got guests dancing to his every song and demanding for more.
Phyno continues his dominance as the King of the East consolidating his new album, No Guts No Glory. The lanky rapper wrapped up the night with a stunning finale eliciting tumultuous cheers from the eager audience who remained dancing long after the Phyno had bowed off the stage.Guest appearances from Dammy Krane, Efa and Pucado added spice to an already exceptional night.A pre gig party also held on May 10th at Picalilly Licks and Bites, Onitsha. Special guest artiste, Naeto C, presented the grand prize of an LED TV to the winner, Martins O.C, to the delight of fans.
Delighted consumers also carted away numerous other prizes such as home theaters and headphones.
On Saturday May 17, 2014 the 8th stage of Star Music Trek will hosted in Benin at Sam Ogbemudia Stadium.
The exciting 10 week-10 city pan Nigerian tour culminates in a grand finale in Lagos at Jalisco Open Field, Oshodi on May 31st 2014.
