Crayon accuses Mavin of changing him, says Rema is no longer his friend

Crayon, the Nigerian singer, has accused Mavin Records of changing his personality and claimed he was asked to “sell my soul” before achieving fame, while declaring that he is no longer friends with label colleague Rema.

The singer made the claims in a series of now-deleted posts on X, where he also called out music producer London over what he described as ignored apology messages.

In one of the posts, Crayon lamented what he said was the loss of his former personality, blaming Mavin Records for the change.

“What really happened to the old Crayon! Mavin killed him!!!! They killed the loving and playful Crayon! Everything wey dey happen to me na them cos I came in innocent boy from Ojo with great potential of becoming the greatest of all time! Na idiot wey make I sell my soul before I blow. Them tell me live for Mavin I shock!!,” he wrote.

The singer also expressed disappointment over his relationship with Rema, saying the two were no longer friends.

Crayon claimed he had reached out to the ‘Calm Down’ crooner several times but received no response for six months.

“Me and Rema are no longer friends! Una don too hurt me! Una Dey hurt me to the last minute! I don leave am for God!!!!! I no go talk again! Ajehh,” he added.

“If I show Una messages wey I send that Smallie divine! 6months no response! Wetin happen I kill person? You Wey steal your friend laptop to go feed your family, them no forgive you????”

Crayon also directed his frustration at London, accusing the producer of ignoring messages in which he apologised.

“Small London wey I baff carry come from Kaduna! Sef Dey see my apology messages wey I take my time write you Dey ignore! You don forget say na me o!” he wrote.

The latest outburst is not the first time the singer has publicly expressed dissatisfaction with Mavin Records.

In March, Crayon criticised the label’s leadership in another X rant, declaring that “Don Jazzy na my boy” and hinting at a possible departure from the record company.

The singer, who was born in Lagos, joined Blowtime Entertainment, an imprint of Mavin Records, in May 2019. He later fuelled speculation about his future with the label by sharing details about Olodum Entertainment.
