Blaqbonez, the Nigerian rapper, has expressed his desire to collaborate with Burna Boy, the Grammy-winning singer, saying the music star inspired much of his energy this year.
In a recent interview on The Zeze Millz show, the ‘Chanel’ hitmaker said a collaboration with Burna Boy would be exciting, adding that he could already imagine how the project might sound.
“I would love to collab with Burna Boy; that would be really fire. I can imagine it; it would just be super crazy. You know what is crazy? The energy I am on this year, a lot of it was inspired by him,” he said.
Although the rapper did not disclose whether discussions about a collaboration had taken place, his comments highlight his admiration for Burna Boy and the influence the singer has had on his creative direction.
Born Emeka Akumefule, Blaqbonez has established himself as one of Nigeria’s prominent rap acts through a string of projects that showcase his versatility and distinctive approach to hip-hop.
He gained wider recognition with his 2021 debut album, ‘Sex Over Love’, before releasing his second studio album, ‘Young Preacher’, in 2022.
In 2023, he released ‘Emeka Must Shine’, which further strengthened his reputation in the Nigerian music industry. The project also preceded his inclusion in Rolling Stone’s ‘50 Innovators Shaping Rap’s Future’ list in August that year.
Blaqbonez followed up with his fourth body of work, ‘No Excuses’, in 2025, before releasing his fifth studio album, ‘Nomadinho: 4th Prime’.
Burna Boy, meanwhile, remains one of Africa’s most prominent musical exports, with his Grammy win further cementing his international standing.
