USA U-17 Women Set FIFA World Cup Record With Historic 17-0 Victory Over Samoa

The United States U-17 women’s national team made history after securing a record-breaking 17-0 victory over Samoa at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco on Monday. The emphatic result established the USA U-17 women’s team as the first side to score seventeen goals in a FIFA World Cup match at any level.

Forward Maddie DiMaria delivered a sensational performance, scoring six goals to lead the Americans’ extraordinary attacking display against their Samoan opponents. DiMaria opened the scoring just 63 seconds into the contest, setting the tone for a match that quickly became one-sided in Morocco.

By halftime, the United States had established a commanding 9-0 advantage, with DiMaria contributing four goals during the opening period. The American team continued its relentless attacking pressure after the break, adding eight more goals to complete the remarkable seventeen-goal performance.

Loradana Paletta and Carolina Reyna each scored twice, while Mia Corona, Grace Murray, Amari Manning, Deus Stanislaus, Isa Ortiz, Meila Brewer and Gianna Hanf contributed single goals. Beyond the team record, DiMaria achieved another milestone by becoming the first player to score six goals in a single FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup match.

Her performance also established a new record for the most goals scored by a United States women’s international player in one match across all age levels. The Americans surpassed Morocco’s previous benchmark after the men’s U-17 team defeated New Caledonia 16-0 at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2025.

United States coach Ciara Crinion praised her players’ performance, highlighting their ability to maintain intensity and convert opportunities throughout the historic encounter. Meanwhile, Samoa struggled to contain the Americans’ attacking movement, finishing the contest without registering a single shot against the opposition.

The United States will continue its Group E campaign against Kenya on October 22, hoping to build momentum after its extraordinary opening victory. With seventeen goals already recorded, the American youngsters have announced their ambitions and delivered an unforgettable statement at Morocco 2026.
