Segun ‘Sheggz’ Olusemo, former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate, has denied claims that he lived off his ex-girlfriend Bella Okagbue, saying they shared their financial responsibilities on a “70/30” basis.
The reality TV star addressed the claims during a recent chat with Oyemykke, a UK-based Nigerian social media influencer.
Sheggz rejected suggestions that he collected money from Bella during their relationship. He said he had a job and made his own money.
“I’m not a gigolo. Bro, is it possible? I have a job. I make money as I work hard,” he said.
“I have my house in London, and I have my house in Banana Island, Lagos. I’ve been balling since way back.”
He further argued that he contributed more financially to the relationship while acknowledging Bella’s contribution.
“I’m not saying she’s lying. She brought stuff to the table. It’s 70/30. She’s a woman; she works as well. She’s a star too; we’re both stars,” he said.
According to Sheggz, he provided for Bella while they lived together and bought her a car.
“She lived with me; I provided everything for her. As I gave her a car, I did everything for her. I loved her to bits. That was my girl. If we got married, this wouldn’t be a conversation.
“Because we didn’t get married, now everyone is saying crazy stuff.”
The pair met during the 2022 edition of BBNaija and started dating while on the reality show.
In August, Sheggz announced that their four-year relationship ended in January 2026.
Bella later accused Sheggz of having a double personality. She also said he made “hundreds of promises” to her, but “none was fulfilled”.
