Danielle Adewusi, representing Lagos, has emerged as Miss Universe Nigeria 2026 after beating 19 other contestants at the grand finale in Lagos.
The event took place on Sunday at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. It followed weeks of camp activities, advocacy projects, talent showcases and stage performances.
Adewusi won the crown after impressing the judges with her confidence, intelligence, elegance and dedication to social impact.
Guy Murray-Bruce, president of the Silverbird Group and national director of Miss Universe Nigeria, crowned Adewusi at the event.
The top 10 finalists included Adewusi of Lagos, Anita Osikhena of Edo, Myya Jones of Cross River, Melissa Toghanro of Delta and Oluwafunmibi Ajaja of Ekiti.
Benedicta Iferike of Abuja, Chidinma Oluku of Abia, Precious Chinah of Rivers, Eno Idungafa of Akwa Ibom and Edidiong Udoidua of Ebonyi also made the final 10.
Jones received the highest number of votes in the fast-track voting round. The result earned her an automatic place in the top five.
Toghanro will represent Nigeria at Miss Supranational. Osikhena also won several of the night’s major honours.
Other special award recipients included Miss Akwa Ibom for Most Photogenic, Miss Ekiti for Miss Amity and Miss Edo for Best Evening Dress.
Miss Oyo won Top Model, while Miss Osun took Best National Costume. Miss Ogun won Best Talent.
Adewusi will now represent Nigeria at the 75th Miss Universe Festival. The event is scheduled for November 24 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
