Davido, Rema and Fally Ipupa are returning to headline Afro Nation Portugal in 2027, after previously taking centre stage at the festival.
The trio will lead the seventh edition of the festival, which will be held from June 9 to 11, 2027, at Praia da Rocha in Portimão, Portugal.
Davido, Rema, Fally Ipupa return
Afro Nation Portugal announced the trio as part of its first wave of about 30 acts for the 2027 edition.
The festival described Davido, Rema and Fally Ipupa as “three giants of African music.”
Congolese star GIMS will also join the lineup as a special guest. Omah Lay, Victony, Shenseea, Valiant and Rayvanny are among the other acts confirmed for the main Lit stage.
Rema previously headlined the 2024 edition alongside Asake, J Hus and Tyla. His appearance came after the global success of his hit song ‘Calm Down’.
Davido has also headlined Afro Nation Portugal before and will return for another edition. Fally Ipupa has made several appearances at the festival in recent years, including a main-stage performance in 2024.
Nigeria’s strong presence
The return of Davido and Rema continues Afro Nation Portugal’s long history of featuring Nigerian stars.
Since the festival launched in 2019, Nigerian musicians have regularly featured among its biggest acts. Previous headliners have included Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Megan Thee Stallion, 50 Cent, Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj.
The sixth edition ended in July with Wizkid and Asake leading the lineup. Burna Boy also featured at the festival, having launched his album No Sign of Weakness from the beach stage in 2025.
Uncle Waffles headlined the Piano People stage, while Gunna and Kehlani appeared as special guests.
What to expect in 2027
Afro Nation has expanded from Portugal to Ghana, Puerto Rico, Miami and Detroit. However, the Portugal edition remains its flagship event.
The festival attracts tens of thousands of fans from around the world for a weekend focused on African music and culture.
