Chris Brown, the American singer, has declared himself “the best” and said he does not like most celebrities following backlash over an honour he received in Texas.
In a lengthy post on his Instagram Story, Brown also called himself “the king” and said no artist could match him “on my worst day”.
“I’m not your friend. I’m not your buddy. I don’t like the majority of you. I don’t want your approval. I don’t want your fake love. I hate the music industry,” he wrote.
He went on to say he no longer wanted to take part in what he described as a “circus”.
“I don’t wanna participate in this circus. If it doesn’t benefit my children, I don’t need it. You will no longer be able to be around me.
“Fk being humble. Fk your agenda. Fk your narrative. Fk how you feel. I don’t like none of you celebrities. I am the best, hands down.
“I’m the king. I’m on that type of timing. Not a single artist on this planet can fk wit me on my worst day! They know it. I’m tired of being nice. Fk yo opinion. I’ll be the villain.”
The comments came days after Brown and fellow R&B singer Usher were recognised during an R&B Tour stop at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
US lawmaker Jasmine Crockett entered the artistes’ names into the congressional record. State representative Venton Jones also recognised their contributions to R&B music in Texas.
Jones later apologised to his constituents for honouring Brown, citing the singer’s history of domestic violence.
Brown then criticised Jones for reversing the recognition.
