Nkechi Blessing, the Nigerian actress, and Phyna, the reality TV star, will face each other in a celebrity boxing match on October 1, 2026.
Organisers have scheduled the bout, tagged ‘Phyna vs Nkechi’, at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos. The fight forms part of the ‘Chaos in the Ring’ series organised by Balmoral Group Promotions.
The matchup follows a recent online clash between the two celebrities.
Nkechi had criticised Phyna for “frequently engaging in online confrontations”. She also alleged that the reality star “fights with everybody”.
Phyna responded by questioning what prompted the actress’s comments.
Phyna and Nkechi take feud to the ring
The clash will now move from social media to the boxing ring as both celebrities prepare to face each other on October 1.
Carter Efe, the comedian, and Speed Darlington, the singer, are also expected to face each other in another celebrity boxing bout on the same day.
The development comes amid a growing trend of celebrities taking public disputes to the boxing ring.
Previous celebrity boxing bouts
In May, Efe defeated singer Portable by unanimous decision in a celebrity boxing match. The contest followed a heated press conference between the pair.
Darlington also faced Portable in a 2025 bout that followed a dispute over performance fees.
The feud began after Darlington invited Portable to perform at an event and offered him N500,000. Portable declined the invitation and mocked Darlington for being “poor”.
Darlington later accused Portable of insulting his mother. Portable then challenged him to a fight and boasted that he would defeat Darlington just as he had defeated actor Charles Okocha.
Public demand eventually led to the bout.
Portable knocked out Darlington after an intense first-round exchange. Darlington failed to answer the bell for the second round, giving Portable a technical knockout (TKO) victory.
Phyna and Nkechi will now take their own clash into the ring as part of Balmoral Group Promotions’ October 1 event.
