Rising Nollywood actress and content creator Nimmy Ferrari has died at 26, just days before her planned housewarming. Her family later buried her in the same Sagamu, Ogun State, home she had hoped to celebrate.
Ferrari had spent years building the house. She was reportedly making final plans for the housewarming when she died.
Actress Oluwakemisola Apesin, popularly known as Kemity, announced Ferrari’s death on Instagram on Sunday night.
“Everybody is back home; we left only you, IDERA Nimmyferrari. It is well,” she wrote.
Ferrari’s immediate younger sister later confirmed the death. Her confirmation ended the uncertainty that followed the first social media reports.
Unconfirmed reports online claim that Ferrari died from complications after fibroid surgery. However, her family has not confirmed this claim. They have also not released an official cause of death.
The timing of her death has made the tragedy even more painful. Ferrari had built the home as a major personal milestone. She planned to gather her loved ones there for the housewarming.
Instead, mourners gathered at the property for her burial.
Videos shared online showed people at the compound as preparations for the burial took place. The same home she hoped to open in celebration became her final resting place.
Ferrari, whose full name was Adesanya Nimota Omotolani, was a rising name in Yoruba Nollywood. She appeared in films such as World Famous, Olowosile, Omo Agba, Iran Keta, Awari Ogo and Orisa Para.
She also ran Nimmy Ferrari Productions. The actress had built a strong presence as a content creator on social media and YouTube.
Her death comes days after she paid tribute to veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo. Hassan died on August 24.
Ferrari’s passing has since sparked conversations about fibroids and reproductive health. Some social media users have also called for more public awareness about the risks linked to medical procedures.
