Jennifer Lawrence says she limits Botox because she needs to maintain facial movement as a working actor, revealing that she only gets what she calls “baby Botox.”
The Oscar-winning actress discussed cosmetic procedures during an interview with Vogue. Lawrence explained that she cannot have too much work done because facial expressions are important to her acting.
“I can’t really get very much done,” Lawrence told Vogue. “I need to have movement in my face. I get baby Botox, but I can’t do a lot. If my skin is going to be a little saggier than I would like, at least it looks dewy and pretty.”
Lawrence discusses other procedures
The actress also opened up about cosmetic treatments she is hesitant to try. One of them is fat transfer.
“Oh, I’m really nervous about these fat transfers. I support other people doing them because I want to continue to watch and see what happens, but I don’t know about that. I mean, I would love to have a buccal fat removal. I can’t because everybody would know, but just know that I want that.”
Lawrence said she does like radiofrequency treatments. She explained that she uses the treatment because of her cheeks.
“I do like the radiofrequency because I have huge cheeks and so I feel like exercising them as much as possible,” she added.
Olivia Wilde speaks on facial movement
Lawrence’s comments came weeks after Olivia Wilde spoke about cosmetic procedures and facial movement in Hollywood.
Wilde made the remarks during an episode of “The Run-Through with Vogue” while promoting “The Invite.”
“As a director, I now am constantly searching for actresses who can still move their faces, and it’s not easy… I am a product of the same machine. I am under the same pressures. I get it.”
“There’s something so medieval about a lot of these things,” she added at the time. “I’ve had the thing of people being like, ‘She looks old and dead and awful.’ And you’re like, ‘Fuck! How do you win? It’s impossible.’”
Lawrence’s upcoming projects
Lawrence was a fixture on last year’s awards circuit following her role in “Die My Love.” The film premiered at Cannes and earned her a Golden Globe nomination for best actress in a motion picture drama.
She is also expected to appear as Katniss Everdeen in a small role in the upcoming “Hunger Games” prequel, “Sunrise on the Reaping,” due in November.
