The Dangote Refinery IPO is expected to open within 12 days, exciting Nigerian investors. Aliko Dangote disclosed the timeline while speaking with investors and analysts in Botswana.
Reuters reported that the offering could open around September 14. The proposed offer will involve about 4.1 billion shares priced at N525. The transaction could raise roughly $1.5 billion, making it one of Africa’s largest.Dangote Refinery IPO plans have attracted attention because of the facility’s enormous scale.
The refinery currently has a processing capacity of 650,000 barrels daily. Management plans to double that capacity to approximately 1.4 million barrels per day.
Dangote said the expansion would strengthen the refinery’s position across international markets. Investors will watch the prospectus for pricing, dividends, and subscription requirements.
The company previously submitted plans for a $5 billion IPO, although the final size differs. Recent reports indicate that the transaction will raise fresh capital for expansion. The offering could deepen Nigeria’s capital market and attract more retail investors.
Dangote has emphasized allowing Nigerians to participate in the refinery’s growth. Meanwhile, the facility has transformed Nigeria’s petroleum industry since commercial operations began.
Its scale has reduced reliance on imported petroleum products while supporting regional exports. The Dangote Refinery IPO could give investors direct access to that expanding business. However, investors should study the official prospectus before committing funds.
Market participants will monitor approvals and subscription details before the opening date. If successful, the listing could become a major milestone for Nigeria’s capital market now.
