Soso Soberekon, the Nigerian music executive, has offered Peter Okoye N500 million to face his twin brother, Paul Okoye, in a celebrity boxing match amid their renewed feud.
Soberekon made the offer in a viral video shared on X, where he was seen at a nightclub holding up his phone while Peter performed on stage. The phone displayed a message offering the singer N500 million to fight Paul.
The proposal comes as the Psquare brothers remain embroiled in a financial dispute following the collapse of their music partnership.
Peter and Paul rose to prominence in the early 2000s as Psquare and became one of Africa’s biggest music acts before their first split in 2017. They reunited in 2021 but separated again in 2024.
The latest fallout has involved allegations over finances, music royalties and the management of their catalogue.
Last week, Peter accused their elder brother, Jude, of excluding him from proceeds from their music catalogue, including a $25,000 payment. He also alleged that he was not a signatory to one of the accounts used to collect their royalties.
Jude denied the allegations, while Paul announced that he is “distancing” himself from the feud.
Peter has also accused Paul of trying to damage his reputation, while their elder brother Henry Okoye previously blamed Jude for the longstanding family rift.
Soberekon’s N500 million proposal therefore comes against the backdrop of the brothers’ continuing public dispute, with the music executive appearing to suggest a boxing match as a way of turning their rivalry into a celebrity spectacle.
