Sharon Madueke Faqua, wife of actor Shawn Faqua, has revealed that her marriage to the Nollywood star helped her heal from the emotional baggage she carried from a previous relationship.
The entrepreneur disclosed during a recent appearance on a podcast hosted by Olive Emodi. She said she felt led by the Holy Spirit to share her experience.
Marriage brought healing
“This morning, I was praying, and I heard the Holy Spirit say, ‘Talk about how your marriage healed you.’ And I mean this marriage,” she said.
“I want to say clearly that my marriage to Shawn healed me because when I met Shawn, I still had a lot of baggage from my previous marriage.”
According to Sharon, her relationship with Shawn played a major role in helping her move beyond the pain of her past.
Why she avoids discussing her ex-husband
Sharon explained that she rarely speaks publicly about her first marriage. She said she does not want her former husband to feel unfairly portrayed.
“I also somehow do not like talking about it so that my ex-husband doesn’t think, ‘Hey, so I was such a horrible person,” she said.
She noted that the breakdown of a marriage does not always mean one person is at fault.
Compatibility and shared values matter
According to Sharon, two people can be good individuals but still not be suitable life partners.
“When you are just right for someone… I don’t want to use the wrong word. Two people can be good but are not meant for each other,” she said.
She also stressed the importance of spiritual alignment in marriage.
“Apart from that, when your altars are not rhyming, it just doesn’t work,” she said.
Sharon’s comments have sparked conversations online about healing after divorce and the role of faith in relationships.
