Ariana Grande has filed a lawsuit against anonymous hackers, accusing them of stealing and leaking unreleased songs, photos and footage from her recording sessions and music videos.

The lawsuit was filed on Monday in Los Angeles and reviewed by Variety. Grande claims the hackers used phishing scams and other schemes to gain access to private accounts linked to her collaborators.

Alleged Theft of Unreleased Content

According to the suit, the defendants carried out the “unlawful and egregious theft, dissemination, and exploitation of unreleased content.”

Grande’s legal team alleges that the hackers targeted photographers, producers and other collaborators who worked closely with the singer. After obtaining the material, they allegedly sold it for “significant sums of money.”

The singer is suing unnamed John Does to “uncover the identities of these currently unknown and unscrupulous individuals to hold them accountable for their invasive and reprehensible conduct.”

The lawsuit also states that “it is imperative to Ms Grande to ensure on behalf of herself and others that such conduct is deterred to the fullest extent possible.”

Years of Alleged Leaks

Grande’s lawyers claim that hundreds of leaks have occurred since she debuted in the music industry in 2011.

The suit says hackers obtained login details for a photographer’s Dropbox account in 2019. In 2020, they allegedly hacked the mobile device of a producer who had worked with Grande.

The hackers reportedly accessed unreleased masters, demos and footage from recording sessions. The lawsuit claims they leaked 45 unreleased songs in 2023 alone.

Latest Allegations

The suit also details an incident from 2024. According to the filing, hackers created a Gmail account and domain name while posing as a photographer.

They allegedly convinced a digital technician to send unreleased photographs belonging to Grande.

Through the lawsuit, Grande aims to identify those responsible and hold them accountable for the alleged theft and distribution of her private creative work.
