Veteran Nollywood actor Ramsey Nouah has opened up on the secret behind his longevity in the film industry, saying discipline and consistency, not talent alone, have sustained his career for more than three decades.

Speaking in a recent interview, the acclaimed actor said talent may attract opportunities, but discipline is what keeps people going when motivation fades.

“I’ve come to know and learn that talent is not enough. Discipline is what actually keeps you consistent when inspiration fails you,” he said.

Nouah also addressed what many people misunderstand about his success, noting that fame often hides the hard work and sacrifices required to build a lasting career.

“A lot of people assume that success is like giving, but it’s not. They never see the work, the effort, the doubts and everything behind the scenes,” he said.

According to him, many people mistakenly equate fame with success because they see only the public side of an entertainer’s life.

“They usually don’t see it, and they always think that when you’re famous, you’re successful already. That’s what it means, that’s what it takes.”

The actor further stressed that maintaining success is more challenging than attaining it, insisting that consistency is the true measure of achievement.

“Success is a given, but it can happen just once. Consistency is what really matters, consistency. And for you to be consistent, you need discipline,” he added.

Nouah remains one of Nollywood’s most respected figures. Beyond acting, he has built a successful career as a filmmaker, directing and producing acclaimed projects, including Living in Bondage, while also starring in productions such as Netflix’s Blood Sisters.
