Nigerian rapper Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, better known as Vector, has revealed that his wife first caught his attention because of her rap skills.

The rapper shared the story during an interview on Mentality With Ebuka. He said he met Yinka Coker at a club before they got married in 2022.

What First Attracted Vector

According to Vector, Yinka stood out while rapping a song by Jamaican-American artist Heavy D.

“I met my woman in the club, and she is super homely; who would have thought? My first attraction to her was that she was rapping Heavy D’s song, and I was attracted to the fact that she could rap,” he said.

Vector noted that their meeting challenged the common belief that people who meet in clubs are not usually home-oriented.

Their First Conversation

The rapper also recalled how their first conversation started.

“Though my first comment to her was me yabbing her toenail, it was breaking because it had been a while since she painted it. And she was like, ‘Who the hell is this?’” he said.

The unusual remark surprised Yinka and became the beginning of their interaction.

Life as a Girl Dad

Vector also spoke about fatherhood and how raising daughters has changed him.

The father of three said his daughters show him love every day. He added that the experience has helped him view life differently.

“Men who need love the most get girls as kids because they shower you with love every day. It has helped me change my perspective on life in general. I had a rough-around-the-edges upbringing, growing up in the barracks, but being a girl, my dad has helped me become a bit calmer about my surroundings,” he said.

“It helps you ease up as a man because there’s so much tension that comes with being one. So, I’m enjoying the experience.”
