Tanzanian singer and songwriter Zuchu has announced her split from her husband and label boss, Diamond Platnumz.

The singer revealed that they have separated and are currently divorcing. She shared the news in a post on her Instagram Story.

Zuchu Explains Her Decision

Zuchu, whose real name is Zuhura Othman Soud, said she decided with a “heavy heart.” She explained that she chose to put herself first after six years with the singer.

“Praise be to Allah. We tried, but Allah has His own plans, and I have no choice but to accept them. That is human nature; that is life. Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal Wakeel.”

The 32-year-old singer also wished Diamond and his family well. She said she plans to focus on healing, her health, and her music career.

Marriage Reportedly Lasted One Year

Reports say Zuchu and Diamond Platnumz, whose real name is Naseeb Abdul, got married in June 2025.

Their wedding was reportedly a private ceremony attended by close family and friends. The couple’s relationship attracted attention from fans across East Africa.

As of this report, Diamond Platnumz has not commented on the separation.

How Zuchu Joined Wasafi

Zuchu first met Diamond through her mother. The introduction led to an audition with the founder of the Wasafi record label.

During the audition, she performed two songs. One of them was a rendition of “Wana,” which later became her debut single.

Her performance impressed the label and earned her a place at WCB Wasafi. Since then, she has become one of East Africa’s leading female music stars.

The split marks a new chapter for the singer as she focuses on her personal life and career.
