Super Falcons coach Justine Madugu has unveiled the Super Falcons WAFCON 2026 squad for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The Super Falcons WAFCON 2026 squad features 25 players as Nigeria prepares to defend its continental title. The team also aims to win a record-extending 11th WAFCON crown.

Madugu selected a balanced squad led by captain Rasheedat Ajibade. Experienced stars Asisat Oshoala, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Michelle Alozie, Jennifer Echegini, Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne and Francisca Ordega also made the final list. However, defender Ashleigh Plumptre is a notable absentee after missing selection.

Goalkeepers: Chiamaka Nnadozie, Comfort Erhabor, Fatima Oloko.Defenders: Michelle Alozie, Osinachi Ohale, Oluwatosin Demehin, Rofiat Imuran, Miracle Usani, Shukurat Oladipo.

Midfielders: Christy Ucheibe, Deborah Abiodun, Jennifer Echegini, Toni Payne, Halimatu Ayinde, Regina Otu, Chioma Olise.

Forwards: Rasheedat Ajibade, Asisat Oshoala, Esther Okoronkwo, Francisca Ordega, Gift Monday, Chinwendu Ihezuo, Rinsola Babajide, Folashade Ijamilusi and Janet Akekoromowei.

Furthermore, Nigeria enters the tournament as the most successful team in WAFCON history. The Super Falcons have won 10 continental titles and remain favourites for another triumph. They will compete in Group C alongside Zambia, Egypt and Malawi.

Meanwhile, Madugu expressed confidence in his squad’s quality and experience ahead of the tournament. The coaching staff expects the players to build on Nigeria’s proud legacy. Super Falcons WAFCON 2026 squad members now carry the responsibility of defending the country’s continental crown and extending their dominance in African women’s football.
