Davido Says Entertainment Career Was Inevitable, Even Without Music

Davido says he would probably own a media house or record label if he had not become a successful artist.

The singer said his love for entertainment would have kept him in the industry, even if his music career had failed.

In an interview with PlayKisstra, Davido spoke about the career path he might have taken outside music.

“I’d probably be a label owner or have a media house because I’ve always loved entertainment,” he said.

According to him, his passion for music goes beyond performing on stage.

“Even if I were working in my daddy’s office, I can see myself having a side business like a music label just because I love music.”

Beyond entertainment, the Afrobeats star said his education could have helped him build a corporate career.

“I have a degree. I have a BSc in Business Management, so I can go to Barclays here and try to get a job,” he said.

Davido stressed that he had qualifications that could help him secure employment.

“You know what I’m saying? I could get a job. I can actually get a job. I got a résumé.”

The award-winning artist rose to fame in 2012 after releasing ‘Dami Duro’, a hit song from his debut album, ‘Omo Baba Olowo’.

Today, he is widely regarded as one of Africa’s biggest music stars and a leading figure in Afrobeats.
