Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Wizkid has revealed ‘Sexy’ as the title of his seventh studio album. He announced an exclusive pre-release listening party on Thursday night at Cova Club in Paris.
The 35-year-old singer, born Ayodeji Balogun, hosted fellow artistes Shallipopi, Young Jonn, Tiakola, and Pasuma at the event.
Fans have welcomed the announcement with excitement. However, Wizkid has not revealed the album’s release date or tracklist.
The Paris event came weeks after the singer sparked speculation with a cryptic post on X. He simply wrote: “Album.”
The new project follows the release of his sixth studio album, ‘Morayo’, in November 2024. The album honoured his late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, who died in August 2023.
Wizkid rose to fame in 2011 with his debut album, ‘Superstar’. He later released ‘Ayo’ in 2014, ‘Sound From The Other Side’ in 2017, ‘Made In Lagos’ in 2020, and ‘More Love, Less Ego’ in 2022.
‘Made In Lagos’ featured several local and international stars. They included Damian Marley, Skepta, H.E.R, Ella Mai, Burna Boy, Tems, and Terri.
Wizkid won a Grammy Award in 2021 for his contribution to Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl.” His latest album announcement has raised expectations as fans await more details about ‘Sexy’.
