Louis Partridge says he never imagined becoming a contender for the role of James Bond. Still, the Enola Holmes star says it is “wonderful” to be linked with the iconic British spy.
The 23-year-old actor spoke at the world premiere of Enola Holmes 3. He admitted he never expected to be part of the conversation about the next 007.
“No, no. Not yet, at least. But that’s something to keep in mind. I wonder what Variety thinks?” Partridge said when asked if he had ever pictured himself as Bond.
Partridge also reflected on the challenges of fame after the first Enola Holmes film debuted on Netflix in 2020.
“The social media stuff can get a bit noisy sometimes, but it’s important to have good people around you and to figure out for yourself what’s important outside of looking at your phone, to be honest, which is surprisingly hard to do these days. I’m not gonna lie,” Partridge told Variety. “It sounds silly to say, but that’s quite tricky to do today.”
The actor has since starred alongside Cate Blanchett, signed a partnership with Prada and attracted public attention for his relationship with Olivia Rodrigo. Despite the spotlight, he remains focused on his career.
“I did not, but it’s a part of the job, and I’m grateful to feel like I’m on the right path,” he explained. “I feel good about where I’m at. I’ve got more to do.”
Industry reports have linked Partridge with the James Bond role. He is one of several actors reportedly under consideration as Amazon MGM Studios looks for a younger actor to play the famous spy.
