Nigerian singer Mr Eazi has opened up about the moment he discovered that his wife, Temi Otedola, was pregnant with their first child.
The music star shared the touching story during a recent episode of How Far?. He revealed that it took some time for the news to fully sink in.
The Pregnancy News Felt Unreal at First
Mr Eazi explained that he initially struggled to process the news. While the couple was in Japan, Temi appeared more tired than usual. However, she was not showing obvious signs of pregnancy.
He said he only started believing it after doctors confirmed the pregnancy.
“I was like, okay, she is actually pregnant,” he recalled.
Even then, the reality had not fully settled in.
The Scan That Changed Everything
Things became more real after the couple returned to Dubai and visited their doctor.
Mr Eazi said seeing the scan for the first time was a special moment. The image of the embryo made him realise that they were truly expecting a child.
Each visit to the hospital strengthened that feeling. As the baby continued to grow, the scans became more detailed and meaningful.
According to him, hearing the baby’s heartbeat was one of the most emotional moments of the journey.
“It was real,” he said, reflecting on the experience.
Waiting Through the First Trimester
Despite his excitement, Mr Eazi admitted that he remained cautious during the early months of the pregnancy.
He explained that he was focused on getting through the first trimester. As a result, he tried not to think too far ahead.
The singer said he preferred to wait until that stage had passed before fully embracing the reality of becoming a father.
Temi Shares Her Thoughts on Motherhood
During the conversation, Temi Otedola also spoke about how pregnancy changed her view of motherhood.
She revealed that the experience gave her a deeper appreciation for her mother.
According to Temi, carrying a child helped her understand the strong bond between parents and their children.
“It just feels very deep,” she said.
She also spoke about the protective feelings many parents have. Temi explained that she now understands why mothers often feel such a strong connection to their children.
