British-Nigerian rapper Dave has announced his first-ever Lagos headline show, bringing his world tour to Nigeria for two performances in October 2026.
The rapper revealed the dates on his official X page on Tuesday. He will perform at the National Theatre in Lagos on October 16 and 17.
The announcement marks a major moment for his Nigerian fans. It also carries personal significance for the rapper because of his family ties to the country.
Born David Orobosa Omoregie, Dave has often spoken about his Nigerian heritage. His father was deported to Nigeria in 1998 when the rapper was just four months old. That experience has influenced both his music and public identity.
A Lagos headline show, then, will not only be a tour stop, but also a homecoming of sorts, which he directly referenced in his announcement.
Dave ranks among the most successful British rappers of the past decade. At 27, he became the first UK artist to debut three consecutive albums at number one on the UK Albums Chart.
His breakthrough came with Psychodrama, which earned him the Mercury Prize and made him the youngest winner in the award’s history. His latest album, The Boy Who Played the Harp, has taken him across Europe, North America and Australia on a global tour.
The rapper continues to highlight his connection to Nigeria in his music. His latest album references Victoria Island in Lagos and its social contrasts. Nigerian listeners strongly connected with those lyrics when the project was released.
Dave also teamed up with Tems on “Raindance,” a standout track from The Boy Who Played the Harp. The song appeared on Spotify’s 2026 Songs of Summer predictions list.
