Veteran Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has explained why she does not feel pressured to become a movie producer, saying acting is the path God called her into.

Speaking on the Morayo Brown show, the 55-year-old actress said she believes acting is her gift and the platform God gave her to make an impact.

“I am an actor. Every actor does not have to be a producer. I face my lane. I do what God asks me to do. And he asked me to have an impact,” she said.

Shaffy Bello recalled praying to become a household name before fame eventually came her way. According to her, the success later came with a deeper question about purpose and responsibility.

“He gave me a platform, and after I got that platform, it became so stressful. That once in a while, I would remember the days I was on my knees asking to be a household name. Now I am.

“He then came back and said I have given you a platform, what are you going to do with it? ‘”

The actress added that although she is not ruling out film production completely, she does not believe it is what she is being called to do at the moment.

“If God gave you the grace to be a producer, run with it. For right now, I will not say never, I am saying that is not what he is calling me to do,” she said.

Shaffy Bello also encouraged people to recognise their gifts and stay true to them rather than follow industry pressure.
