BBNaija’s Tuoyo Ideh has stirred conversation online after claiming that many Nigerian women approach relationships with a focus on financial survival and social status.
The reality TV star and nightlife promoter shared his views on Instagram, suggesting that this mindset makes dating within Nigeria less appealing compared to pursuing relationships abroad. According to him, men may find more genuine connections outside the country or with Nigerian women who live overseas.
“Non-Nigerian girls are better to date or girls who don’t stay in Nigeria 1, I urge every guy to try dating outside Nigeria; Nigerian babes are dating for survival and status,” he wrote via his Instagram story.
His remarks arrive amid ongoing controversy involving fellow former BBNaija housemate Angel Smith and her estranged partner, Tumininu. The pair, who held a private white wedding in the United States in March, have since been entangled in a public dispute marked by accusations and counter-accusations.
Tumininu initially sparked speculation after posting a photo of Angel’s engagement ring with the caption, “If you need a ring, holla.” She later shared another image of herself with a different woman, further fueling the drama.
The situation escalated when Tumininu accused Angel of infidelity and demanded the return of money allegedly kept in Angel’s account. In response, Angel claimed her passport was being withheld over an alleged $40,000 debt.
