A teenage girl identified as Anu Adeleke has taken to social media to publicly appeal to Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, requesting a DNA test to confirm her claim that she is his oldest daughter. The emotional post, shared on Instagram on January 15, 2026, has since drawn widespread attention and reignited a long-standing paternity dispute that first surfaced several years ago.
In the post, Anu introduced herself as a new teenager and explained that she wrote the message independently, describing it as a deeply personal appeal made without external influence. She said her decision to speak out at this stage of her life is driven by a desire to establish her identity as she grows older and transitions into young adulthood.

Anu recounted years of emotional distress, stating that she was bullied in school from the age of six after telling classmates that her father was Davido. According to her, the persistent mockery led to significant mental anguish, prompting visits to a medical professional to safeguard her mental health. Despite these challenges, she said she remained focused on her education, eventually emerging as a top student and becoming her class prefect.
She noted that her social media page had been inactive for about five years, explaining that her mother chose not to update it during a period the family described as particularly difficult. Anu added that she no longer speaks openly about her family background at school, even though she continues to excel academically in secondary school.

In her message, Anu respectfully addressed Davido directly, asking him to agree to a DNA test. She emphasized that the request was personal and solely about establishing her identity, describing the test as โthe right thing to doโ for her peace of mind. She also revealed that she had sent the same message to the singer privately via direct message.
The paternity claim involving Anuโs mother reportedly dates back to 2018. At the time, Davidoโs representatives publicly stated that DNA tests conducted did not confirm paternity. Those statements have remained the official position from the singerโs side, and no new test has been acknowledged since then.

As of the time of reporting, Davido has not issued a public response to Anuโs latest appeal. The singer, who has four publicly acknowledged children, has largely kept matters relating to his family private in recent years, choosing not to engage openly with renewed claims online.
The teenager concluded her message by thanking Nigerians who, according to her, have offered emotional support over the past seven years. She signed off with a prayerful message and expressed hope that her appeal would be considered.
The post has since sparked mixed reactions across social media. While some users expressed sympathy for the teenager and urged a compassionate resolution, others called for restraint, noting the sensitive nature of paternity issues and the importance of verified facts. Legal observers have also pointed out that DNA testing remains the only conclusive method for resolving such claims.
For now, Anuโs request remains unanswered publicly, leaving her appeal suspended between personal conviction and an unresolved public dispute. As conversations continue online, the situation highlights the emotional weight such claims can carry, particularly when they involve a minor seeking clarity about her identity in the public eye.
