Meghan Markle is officially back on a film set marking her first scripted acting role since her departure from the screen in 2017. The former Suits star was spotted on the set of the upcoming Close Personal Friends in Pasadena, California, on 5 November 2025, where she appears in a cameo role playing herself.

According to People Magazine, Meghan is part of an upcoming Amazon MGM Studios production titled Close Personal Friends, which stars Lily Collins, Brie Larson, and Henry Golding. The film reportedly began shooting earlier this month, with Markle appearing in a surprise cameo role as herself.

Meghan Markle’s Shocking Comeback

Witnesses on set described the Duchess as “calm, confident, and excited,” interacting warmly with the crew and fellow actors. It’s a far cry from the royal engagements and philanthropic appearances that have defined her public image since 2018.

“She looked at ease,” a crew insider told The Royal Observer. “You could tell she’s been waiting for the right moment to reconnect with acting, and she chose a project that fits her personality perfectly.”

The film, directed by Peter Hoar, follows two couples navigating friendship, fame, and privacy in Santa Barbara — a premise many believe mirrors Meghan and Prince Harry’s life in Montecito. Her brief but symbolic appearance has already set social media abuzz, with fans celebrating what they call “Meghan’s Hollywood rebirth.”

Industry sources say the Duchess received multiple acting offers over the years but turned most down, preferring to focus on producing through her company, Archewell Productions. Her latest project, however, reportedly resonated with her on a personal level.

Prince Harry, insiders revealed, has been “incredibly supportive” of Meghan’s decision. “He just wants her to do what makes her happy,” a source told Cosmopolitan.

A New Chapter for the Duchess

The move marks Meghan Markle’s first scripted performance since her breakout role as Rachel Zane on the hit legal drama Suits, which she left in 2017 ahead of her marriage to Prince Harry.
