The first official trailer for the highly anticipated biopic Michael dropped on Thursday, sending waves of excitement through the global entertainment community. The film, which chronicles the life of the legendary Michael Jackson, is directed by Antoine Fuqua and stars his nephew, Jaafar Jackson, in the title role. 

The teaser opens with Jackson in a studio alongside a portrayal of music producer Quincy Jones, while his 1982 hit “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” plays in the background. Clips showcasing Michael’s childhood, early performances with the Jackson 5, and the icon’s signature “Thriller” era visuals stream rapidly.

The film also features Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson, Nia Long as Katherine Jackson and Miles Teller as John Branca. The production wrapped in May 2024 but encountered reshoots and delays, shifting its release to April 24, 2026. 

The trailer amassed over 30 million views within six hours of release, making it one of the most-watched film previews in studio history.
