Alhaja Queen Isimot Abake Abiola, popularly known as Omo-Opeki, added a new milestone to her career when she was recognised at the 6th edition of the Oodua Special Recognition Awards (OSRA) held on Saturday, October 18 2025, at the Ojaja Arena Resort, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

The ceremony sought to honour distinguished personalities of Yoruba heritage for their impact, service and excellence. At the event, the Ooni of Ife personally presented awards to the honourees.
Omo-Opeki serves as CEO of SUWAT Music & Film Nigeria Ltd. and President of the Elite Women Musicians Lagos Club. She was recognised for her outstanding contribution to music promotion, preserving Yoruba culture, and empowering women within the entertainment industry.
Though she was abroad at the time of the event, she expressed deep appreciation for the accolade and dedicated the award to her association members and club officials. Her representatives from the Fuji Musicians Association of Nigeria (FUMAN) Lagos State Chapter including Mayor Omotunde Damendra, Amb. Lateef Idowu Alagbada, Laredo Dudu Ebony, Kamoru Akanbi Gboge and Sulaimon Ebunlorin — accepted the plaque and certificate on her behalf.

Why this award matters
Receiving this honour at OSRA held in the cradle of Yoruba culture, Ile-Ife underscores the cultural significance of her work. Under her leadership the Elite Women Musicians Lagos Club has grown into a platform for female artists from Fuji, Juju, Gospel and Hip-hop genres to collaborate and advance professionally.

This recognition follows other accolades in 2025, including the title “Paramount Queen of Music” awarded to her during the Music Advertisement Association of Nigeria (MAAN) 35th Anniversary in Lagos.
For music and entertainment news blogs, culture-focused outlets and women’s empowerment sites, this story presents relevant angles: Yoruba heritage, female leadership in music, Nigerian entertainment industry dynamics and cultural honour events. Keywords like Omo-Opeki honoured, 6th Oodua Special Recognition Awards, and women in Nigerian music can help optimise search visibility.
With this award added to her record, Omo-Opeki is positioned even more firmly as a respected voice in Nigerian music, cultural preservation and female empowerment.
