Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage has shared a surprising story about how she once turned down a politicianโs private jet offer while she was pregnant. Speaking on the OffAir Podcast hosted by Toolz and Gbemi, the singer said the politician sent a jet to pick her up, but she politely refused the gesture.

According to Tiwa, the offer came during her pregnancy with her son, Jamil. She explained that the politicianโs team reached out to arrange a flight for her convenience, but she felt uncomfortable accepting. โWhile I was pregnant, a politician offered to fly me in a private jet. I didnโt go,โ she said during the show.
The Somebodyโs Son hitmaker shared the story while discussing how fame often attracts grand gestures and how artists must learn to set boundaries. She noted that not every act of generosity comes with the right intentions and that itโs important to know when to say no, no matter the glamour involved.
She Also Returned a Range Rover Gift
Tiwa also recalled an earlier experience where she received a brand-new Range Rover as a birthday gift from someone she described as โa very kind person.โ However, she decided to return it soon after because it arrived on the same day her then-partner proposed to her. โI had to give it back. It just didnโt feel right,โ she said.
Fans online have praised the singer for her transparency and values. Many said her stories reflect the challenges women in entertainment face, especially when fame and personal principles collide.
For Tiwa, her focus remains on her craft, motherhood, and staying grounded despite celebrity life. She said her journey continues to be guided by self-respect and an understanding that integrity matters as much as talent.
