Nigerian comedian DeeOne has successfully completed a 52-hour stand-up comedy marathon in Lagos, setting social media buzzing and positioning himself for possible recognition by the Guinness World Records (GWR). The daring performance began on Friday and concluded early Monday morning, attracting fans, celebrities, and industry colleagues who gathered to witness the feat.

Throughout the event, DeeOne kept his audience entertained with jokes, skits, and spontaneous interactions, performing continuously for more than two days. Clips shared online show him battling fatigue while maintaining his humor and stage presence. The performance took place at The Podium Event Centre, Lagos, and was live-streamed to thousands of viewers across YouTube and Instagram.
Speaking to journalists shortly after completing the marathon, DeeOne expressed gratitude to his fans, team, and sponsors for their unwavering support. โIt was tougher than I imagined, but I am proud I did it. I wanted to show that Nigerian comedians can break global barriers,โ he said.
Fans Celebrate as Guinness Review Awaits
Videos from the event quickly went viral, earning massive engagement across social media platforms. On X (formerly Twitter), hashtags like #DeeOne52Hours and #GWRComedyMarathon trended for hours as fans praised his resilience and dedication.
Celebrities such as AY Makun, Bovi, and Real Warri Pikin congratulated him for pushing creative limits in the comedy industry. AY posted, โBig ups to DeeOne for putting Nigerian comedy on the global stage once again.โ
DeeOne revealed that the attempt has been officially documented and submitted to the Guinness World Records for verification. The current record for the longest stand-up comedy performance stands at 40 hours 8 minutes, set by The Australian comedian Lindsay Webb in 2014. If validated, DeeOneโs feat would shatter that record by nearly 12 hours.
