BellaNaija Launches #StopHPVForHer Campaign to Drive Awareness on HPV and Cervical Cancer Prevention

Leading African digital media platform, BellaNaija, has launched a new health-focused campaign, #StopHPVForHer, to raise awareness on the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and its link to cervical cancer

Globally, cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women with about 95% of cases linked to the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). It is estimated that, in Nigeria, at least 12,000 women get diagnosed with cervical cancer annually. We also rank 7th in the global ranking of cervical cancer cases.ย

For years, BellaNaija has championed and supported impactful health initiatives spanning mental health, breast cancer, PCOS and more. With #StopHPVForHER campaign, we are strengthening our commitment to health and wellness.

Leveraging the power of the media, the campaign will emphasize the importance of early education, regular screenings and vaccination in preventing HPV and cervical cancer. It will also bridge the information gap through expert insights, practical resources on HPV, its prevention, and treatment options, medically reviewed explainers, personal stories, and interactive digital content.

Weโ€™re not just creating awareness on HPV and cervical cancer, weโ€™re championing meaningful conversations around them and providing people with the tools they need to make informed health decisions.

The #StopHPVForHer campaign will run across BellaNaijaโ€™s website and social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) throughout October. Join the conversation using the hashtag: #StopHPVForHer.ย
