The Office of the APC Lagos State Women Leader, with the leadership of Hon Jumoke Okoya Thomas in partnership with the women of GAC Female Members organized a three-day leadership orientation retreat in Ikeja last week for the newly elected female Local government and LCDA chairmen and vice-chairmen.
The retreat, convened by Her Excellencies Princess Sarah Sosan OFR, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire OFR, Senator Idiat Adebule, and Hon. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas, provided a platform to equip participants with essential leadership and governance skills.
Sessions covered grassroots governance, effective communication, information technology, social media management, social , lifestyle, dressing protocol and etiquette, as well as an interactive knowledge-sharing segment between facilitators and participants. The program also featured networking opportunities and social engagements. The different sessions were anchored by different facilitators which included Dr.Morayo AFOLABI Brown, Tosin Ajibade Olori Supergal, Mrs Olutunji, Bar Olayinka Oladunjoye, Hon Rasak Ajala and also all the GAC Conveners. A goodwill message was delivered by Rt Hon Mojisola Miranda the Deputy Speaker of Lagos State.
At the close of the retreat, participants were awarded certificates of participation. The initiative was described as both refreshing and impactful, marking an important step in strengthening female leadership at the grassroots level in Lagos State.
