Famous Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has emerged as the winner of the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency election.

According to reports, Dumelo, who contested under the platform of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), defeated the incumbent, Lydia Alhassan, of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He was declared the winner of the parliamentary election held during the country’s general elections on Saturday, December 7, 2024.

The actor won his constituency with 40,561 votes, while Lydia Alhassan garnered 27,377 votes.

It is worth recalling that Dumelo contested for the constituency seat in 2020 but narrowly lost to Alhassan.Dumelo, who began his acting career in 1991 while still in school, has since appeared in numerous Gollywood and Nollywood movies.
