Popular Nigerian rapper Jude Abaga, better known as M.I., has revealed how he met his wife, Eniola Mafe, after suffering a difficult breakup. In a recent interview, M.I. confessed that he tried to make things work with his ex-girlfriend but their efforts were in vain. He decided to move on and seek love elsewhere.
M.I.’s search for love led him to explore dating apps, but he found them to be an underwhelming experience. He said he felt that the connections he made weren’t genuine or meaningful.
Just when M.I. was starting to lose hope, he met Eniola Mafe. M.I. and Eniola’s relationship blossomed quickly, and they got married in 2022.
M.I.’s wife recommended by Chocolate City co-founder.
However, what is most interesting about this story is how M.I. and Eniola met. In a recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, M.I. revealed that it was Chocolate City co-founder Audu Maikori who recommended Eniola Mafe to him for marriage.
“When I was ready to marry and I wanted to meet someone, I was like, ‘As a celebrity, how do you meet someone? How do you date?’ I even tried dating apps but I didn’t find my ideal woman there. So, I was like, I would just ask people. I asked Audu [Maikori] and he was like, ‘There’s this girl called Eniola Mafe.’ And I was like, ‘Let’s see.’ As he was saying it, I pulled her up on Instagram. Now, when I was younger, I used to say the woman I wanted to marry had an Afro [hairstyle]. I pulled up her DP and she had an Afro,” M.I. said on the podcast.
M.I. went on to say that he was immediately drawn to Eniola’s profile and decided to send her a message. They started chatting and quickly hit it off.
“As soon as we started talking, we never stopped talking. The next time we spoke, we spoke for two hours. The third time we spoke, we spoke for three hours,” M.I. said.
M.I. knew that he had found someone special in Eniola, and they got married in 2022.
