National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, has described as unjust the barrage of criticisms by opposition political parties and a category of the populace against the execution of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
Speaking when members of the APC Professional Forum, led by Isa Yuguda, paid him a courtesy visit at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, he maintained that the administration has performed creditably.
Adamu said the media compounds the situation by hyping negative stories, against positive developments. He said the campaign of defamation is taking its toll at the grassroots level, which has a vast population of vulnerable Nigerians.
Adamu said: “There is still the challenge of appreciating the essence of the APC. There is no sufficient positive publicity on what this government is doing. The opposition is saying so many negative things about the government.
“I am not saying we shouldn’t call a spade a spade. Nobody is quarreling with that. But all the good things that have happened in this administration have not received the kind of commendation and publicity they deserve.”
Yuguda, who was a two-term governor of Bauchi State, said his group boasts of a million-strong membership, with a wide range of formally and informally trained professionals aimed at ensuring the victory of the APC at the poll.
He added that the group has concluded arrangements to organize a town hall meeting with APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, towards ensuring good governance in the country.
