BETTER WORKING CONDITIONS FOR HEALTH WORKERS IN NIGERIA: NIGERIAN NURSES DEMAND

Even though the health sector is one of the frontliners in the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic, the health sector has also suffered a great blow in the hands of the pandemic due to the death of certain health workers to the virus.

The daily risks faced by health workers have prompted the Nigerian Nurses and Midwives Association to seek better working conditions from the Federal Governement as they claim that they are the frontline health workers in the fight against Coronavirus.

The Association claimed that the poor working conditions the health workers are exposed to have caused an increase in the death rates of health workers to the deadly Coronavirus pandemic. The Association has therefore requested for better working conditions in form of life insurance policies, payment of salary arrears and also an improved synergy between the stakeholders in finding a cure to the deadly pandemic.
